Highlights From AgroInfoTech HUB’s Maiden Edition of Agribusiness Clinic

The Agro meet-up series of Nigeria’s first e-agritech innovation center; AgroInfoTech HUB held on Friday, 24th March, 2017.

Discussions anchored on the theme “Career Fulfillment and ICT for Agriculture (ICT4Ag)” were masterfully handled by the discussants; Human Resource and Capacity Building consultant, Mr Tunde Ilesanmi, Abimot Consults and the Founder & Lead Strategist, AgroInfoTech Africa, Mr. Oluwajoba Ayo Okediji.

Mr Ilesanmi delivered a very interactive session on “Career Fulfillment”, beginning with a game of “Hide & Seek”, customised to x-ray how participants arrived at their life choices and decisions. He laid emphasis on how individuals made their career choices and enlightened the audience on how these choices would deliver the desired fulfillment.

He stressed that deriving fulfillment from a chosen career depends on the individual being able to mix his/her interest with value. In his concluding remarks, he summarized that career fulfillment stems from the inter-play among the following: Interest, Education, Skills, Vision, Value & Goals.

Mr Oluwajoba Ayo Okediji in his interview session, chronicled his journey into E-agritech entrepreneurship, his vision and interests in the field of ICT for Agriculture (ICT4Ag.).

Q: Why do CEOs prefer to employ B.sc. graduates to HND graduates?

A: Mr Ilesanmi answered saying that the type of degree possessed by an individual was only a name, of much more worth is the inherent potential of each fellow to deliver needed value in the roles they may be given in the workplace.

Q: Can a computer science ND holder advance to study agric. extension?

A: Mr Okediji replied saying this was in fact a need-based combination owing to the vast integration channels for ICTs in agricultural extension.

A: Mr. Ilesanmi also added that the integration of ICTs into agric. extension delivers more coverage than the traditional extension management approach being used hitherto in Nigeria.

Attendees at the clinic expressed their delight about the well-executed delivery and affirmed that they derived value-added benefits that were useful for them now and in the future.
